I was raised in Chicago, the oldest of four children. My father was a doctor and surgeon, and my mother was a professional soprano. Together, they encouraged us to follow our talents. Mine lay in music and English, literature and law, while others in my family pursued careers in chemistry and nursing. Surprisingly, we are 3 college-level teachers.
I began my career in English, and went into auditing and, later, law. Each of these has its challenges for me, and I continue working with all three. However, I began to want to provide a service that would give me a sense of satisfaction in helping people in a very simple and straightforward way. I then broke my right index finger -how, I wondered, would I play piano again.
One dark Norwegian winter, I escaped to Egypt. There, I experienced reflexology services at a local spa. Veils of sluggish health felt lifted. I felt healthier, refreshed, renewed. How could this simple alternative therapy make me feel so wonderful? I decided this was an answer to my interest in providing a simple service to people - to help them feel more well. I identified a professional training school and took the required courses.
I am now qualified to provide this service, and can do so, communicating in English or Norwegian.
